Couldnt agree more Amy!
I often find the space in normal cubicles difficult . Good on this supermarket for being enlightened.

If all toilets were made to be accessible then we could all use them without being judged 🙂
I agree with Amy ,but i have got to the stage in my life i don't care about the looks, but if they say anything heavens help them they will get the back end of my tongue.xxxx
Go Sylvi! Quite agree...trouble is always think of the drop dead remark hours later!
I know exactly what you all mean, It still makes me mad when I get the look up & down.
I wish all loos were more suitable for people who are physically challenged eg height of loo seats could be higher and therefore more accessible. And too often it’s disabled/baby changing which means you have to wait often quite long.
I’ve certainly experienced the dirty looks for using a disabled toilet instead of going up or down steep stairs to the regular loos in various places, so I find myself feigning a limp, or speaking loudly to companions about my bad knees - like I have to justify myself! A friend of mine who has a degenerative muscle condition has even been directly challenged for using a disabled parking space even though she has a blue badge just because she doesn’t ‘look’ disabled - ironically by a man who didn’t ‘look’ disabled himself!
A young girl in Scotland has been campaigning - very successfully - for this type of signage - if you’re on Facebook, you might want to check this out m.facebook.com/gracessign10/
I was challenged by an older couple whilst about to use the disabled loo in a well known High Street store.... the man said there was a disabled loo in the ladies' toilets - cheeky since I was before him and in a wheelchair and he was walking!
Hey boneyc I can't write on here what my answer would have been to him if he had said that to me 😂.
Totally agree - I need the bars in the handicapped stall to get up. Especially since I had knee surgery a month ago... grrrr... I hate those looks too...
This is so true
I always use the disabled toilet but on one occasion in a hospital disabled toilet. When I had finished. I opened the door to a lady in a wheelchair who gave me a stern look as I left
I was in there for a couple of minutes too. The other cubicle is very small. So prefer to use the disabled toilet.
I think it is human nature to judge others. If you see me coming out of a disabled toilet and when they allow me to drive, if only. Parking my car in a disabled space. I am sure so many people would judge and say he clearly is not disabled.
I would not dream of doing either no matter how much pain I was in. But if I ever did I would have to fake a limp or something.
I went to Legoland with my daughter recently. Thanks to friends. There was a large queue outside the ladies toilets This stunning young lady, naturally stunning walked into the guys toilet without a care in the world. It made me 😀 as o knew that she had a bag on but it was well disguised under her summer dress. She did not care as she was not going to ruin her nice dress. Not one guy said a word as they all stood there peeing into the urinals. She was defiantly 100% female.
I must admit I've never considered myself disabled because I have RA. I've always used the most convenient toilet and never been challenged or cared what other people say or think.
In my old car I had a sign
‘Just because I look good on the outside , dosent mean I feel good on the inside ‘ 💕💕
That's brill sums it up bet u got some looks x amy
