I was having trouble with my right arm locking up and badly hurting so I had surgery to removed some pieces of bone that had broken off. The surgeon told me that all of the cartilage has been eaten up by my RA.
Has anyone had their RA eaten up all of the cartilage... - NRAS
Has anyone had their RA eaten up all of the cartilage in their elbow?
That sounds scary - I think this is happening to my ankle, my tendon is totally inflamed constantly and so far haven’t found a biologic to fix this. Booked to see a private podiatrist next week, my dr recommend I do as the NHS are still not coming back to me. I do hope you get done relief with your arm. -Hessie
Hi 2simpley, yes I know exactly what you mean, the surgeon I saw recently explained to me that my elbows are classed as having secondary OA because of original RA. I have no joint space in either of my elbows so my prognosis is elbow replacements but he wants to see if going back on my RADAR meds help but just come back off them again. Just a wait and see game now, good luck to you, hope the operation has alleviated some of your symptoms 😘
It has happened to me in both knees no cartlige left in both knees so bones rubbing together can hardly walk in agony. Hope it op.helps u and gives u some releve amy
