In error, I used prednisone drops prior to surgery. Will this cause a problem with surgery being able to be done?

Pre cataract surgery drops
Definitely ask your doctor now....don't just turn up for the procedure & tell the surgeon then.
We're not medically qualified so can only say ring the hospital asap and ask them as if its bad then perhaps someone else can take your place and its not worth the risk f saying nothing.
Dear Grandnausea
Interesting names people give themselves on HU! I have uveitis and have had it for more than 10 years. I am having surgery on Wednesday afternoon at Moorfields to replace my lens which has developed severe cataract due to the steroid drops I have been putting in my eyes for many years now and also a vitrectomy to remove the debris which manifests as a pile of floaters which sit in front of the cataract so it's like looking through 2 net curtains! I have been asked to increase my steroid drops to 5x a day instead of 3, three days prior to surgery and because of the chronic uveitis I am also taking 40 mg/day of oral steroid from yesterday which will rapidly reduce over 6 weeks but this is in order to keep my eye as quiet and stable as possible during and post surgery.
If you are having normal cataract on a normal (non uveitis) eye, I'm not sure why you would be taking steroid drops at all but you will know why you are taking these. I am giving the above information just to illustrate that in my circumstance I've been asked to increase the drops so my personal view is that it won't have done any harm but I would agree that the best thing to do is to contact the relevant person to double check. Does your surgeon have a PA you can ring?
Hope this is helpful.
Best wishes
