Hi all,
Just a quick question: Any nasty experiences or side effects I can expect from Avara? I was on methotrexate and couldn’t tolerate the nausea so the doc prescribed AvAra instead. Please someone tell me they have good reviews.
Thanks

Hi
Everyone is different so it maybe ok for you. Methotrexate causes me terrible nausea but continue to take on Rhuematology instructions.
I was taking leflunomide for about 6 months but it gave me the trots. I couldn’t take it on work days. So eventually taken off it after 6 months.
Hope leflunomide helps you?
Hi, have been on leflunomide since October and the only side effect I'm getting is a bit of diarrhoea in the morning. Does take a few weeks to start working though. Good luck
It's not quick and in the first couple of weeks I did get side effects then life just sort of returned to normal. Active life restarted. I love it as I lead a normal life go everything I did before, today I've been walking and birdwatching as Summer is here.Yiiippppeeee. Sunbed out as BBQ dusted off too. Don't read the PIL as it'll frighten you to death but be optamistic and it does work well .
I think you’ll find everyone has a different experience with Methotrexate. I did have some unpleasantness when taking it with tea (and milk), or with coffee. Sticking to the no food or drink and little or no alcohol the day I take it seems to work for me.
Leflunomide has been good for me. Much milder feeling than mtx
Hi. I had to be taken off methotrexate as it causes abnormal blood results and was prescribed Avara/Leflunomide 20 kgs daily. I don’t have side effects but still get a lot of pain. Don’t know what it would be like without it but definitely easier on my system than methotrexate. Sorry I can’t be of more help
Hi Isabella
My liver wouldn't tolerate Leflunomide my ALT shot up to crazy levels but I was the same on Mthx too.
Ive settled well on Enbrel/Benepali
Good luck I hope it works wonders for you with no side effects and without the nausea That you experienced on Mthx.
