The beauty of the right treatment

I just wanted to share a picture of my Easter cake. I made this at my sugarcraft class last night. The reason I'm sharing isn't just because I'm proud but because 6 months ago I couldn't even walk,dress or wash myself. After starting treatment with RoActemra I now have the use of my hands back. Loving my new hobby 😊

It's a lemon madeira with vanilla buttercream. Not very good for my diet but blooming tasty!

Wouldn't that be lovely. I need a lot more practice first though as this was my first cake lol. It's my daughter's wedding soon though so I offered to make another and give Bugsy a veil. Wonder why she said no thanks? x

Adorable cake! I think it's very unkind for you to dangle that beauty in front of us with no ability to share! Congrats on having your hands back and the talent to make that cake. Just don't come around here in 6 months complaining about all the weight you have gained.

Fantastic achievements like this can do you more good than any medication, however in your case the medication works too. Seems like a miracle drug - what type of drug is it and what does it do?

Hi Shelly, RoActemra is an IL6 inhibitor. My consultant thought it would suit me as my ra is aggressive and my inflammation rises rapidly. Here's a link which explains nras.org.uk/what-is-roactem...

Hopefully it works for a while. I have in combination with 10mg methotrexate by injection. I'm a dab hand with needles now.
