Sorry to hear that, how awful for you. My specialist nurse on diagnosis did ask if steroids had reduced swelling as if not blood tests (i take it she meant rf and anti ccp) could suggest other things & one of those was cancer. I was positive for both; really scared me. Can you ring & ask helpline to get back to you/clarify? Apart from that, only other thing I ve heard is that people with one auto immune disease are susceptible to others: friend with hashimoto's thyroid has joint swellings and is worried. Really hope you get some effective treatment/answers.

Kind regards

Keren

Don’t know if this’ll help 🤷‍♀️ , Mshell34, but may be worth a listen 👂:

Dr. PP helps tie together the nature of these autoimmune diseases (thyroid, RA, etc.) & how they ‘cluster’ & ‘travel in packs 🐺🐺🐺’ sorta speak. ["Cancer" being yet another step/ phase (‘end game’) in these dreaded dis-eases? 🤔 ]

Maybe another question (possibly better use of focused time/ effort?) might be "what can I do ‘in the here & now’ to help move myself toward wellness/ improvement"? 🤔

Maybe allow the difficult (perhaps definitively unanswerable) questions ‘to rest’ & occupy ourselves with day-to-day things we can do to help inch ourselves toward healing? 🤷‍♀️ 🤔 🤷‍♂️

In other words, expend our time ⏱/ energy ⚡️⚡️ on things we can influence, & not waste energy on things we can’t influence (or definitively answer)? 🤔

(Merely ‘thoughts aloud’ for pondering. 🤷‍♀️ 🤔 🤦‍♂️ )

Very best wishes to you, Mshell34. 😌 🙏 🍀 🌺 🌞

Really sorry to hear that. Don't know I'm afraid.

I did however, get graves disease before the psoriatic arthritis. Whether the thyroid disorder triggered the PsA I've no idea. As someone else said though, it's common to be smacked with more than one autoimmune disorder.

How will they treat your thyroid cancer? Hope all goes well for you.

I'm afraid I haven't a clue. I just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear of your troubles and wish you all the very best for the future. Hugs

In my case I had NH lymphoma with a side diagnosis of PMR (poly rheumatoid rheumatica). My Rheumatoid doctor told me that my PMR was a result of an “inflammation response” to the cancer. Now that my cancer is in remission, the PMR is “gone”.

Well it’s hard to tell what symptoms went with what but I am getting a total thyroidectomy in April. I am not really freezing but do get cold a lot. Finally just started a Humira and I see small improvements. Hopefully your biopsy comes back benign.

Just seen this post so excuse the time lapse and I did only join since your post. I'm hypothyroid and have Rheumatoid Arthritis all from an early age, my Mum fought for the doctors to admit there was a link and eventually they did, auto immune disorders, what a bain of our lives. I also struggled to conceive which was another side effect of the Auto immune disorder. Hope all is ok with you at the moment and your getting treatment that helps as
