cortisone injection experience

I have RA and OA, and take Methotrexate with good result. I have also

scoliosis, which has progressed lately and causes pain in the hip/lower back.

I may need to have a cortisone injection in this site. How painful is this?

I had a steroid nerve block under anaesthesia and x-ray to make sure the needle was in the right place and that I did not move So I felt nothing except feeling bruised afterwards. I asked why the nurses ad beaten me with a big stick but the consultant said bruising is "normal". In other words it ached a bit but I was cycling within 48 hours.
