Motion Sickness Tablets

Good morning. Does anyone take travel sickness pills with Methotrexate and Benepali? I asked our local pharmacist and he suggested Kwells but that wrist bands would probably be better. Has anyone used either with good results?

Thank you.

Is it for travel sickness or nausea from your meds Vandf? If it's the latter & you think it's the MTX I'd ask if your folic acid needs increasing, that's if you're not on max dose (6 x 5mg weekly). If you are on max dose maybe an antiemetic prescribed by your GP would be more effective, or if you don't pay for your scripts or have a prepayment certificate, could save you a considerable amount.

Thank you. I always smile when I see a post from you. Firstly because it is invariably so helpful and constructive, but secondly because I can really identify with No More Heels! I can't wear them either. . The reason for my question is that we are going on a cruise and want to have something handy in case of a rough Bay of Biscay crossing. I do feel nauseous after Methotrexate but my rheumatologist has agreed to reduce my dose. Thank you for your lovely support on this forum.

Aw thank you for your kind words, although my username is a misnomer nowadays, because of my foot issues I need height, can't wear flats anymore.

So, a cruise, lovely & I think being prepared with an antiemetic or something for motion sickness is advisable, the Bay of Biscay is notoriously rough. I can't recommend anything specifically for water though I'm afraid as I don't do cruises or crossings, we always use the Eurotunnel. Maybe those who do cruise will be along with recommendations.

I hope you have a lovely time. x

Thank you. I've never heard of those, but will look for them today.

I am from the US. I believe Kwell is the similar to our Transderm-scop (Scopolamine patches) that go behind the ear and last 3 days, helps for prevention. For treatment of motion sickness they use Meclizine (prescription Antivert, OTC Dramamine) which also helps with the dizziness. I have RA and Lupus, and I find since it's an antihistamine it dries out my mouth. My rheum said ok to use but always check with your doc. Enjoy your trip!
