Nettac,
I believe that the fundamental aim of physiotherapy is to improve mobility and your functional performance. I do not know whether one should expect reduced pain but function is arguably more important?
Isn't that just a physiotherapist who is allied with SCOPE? I.e. specialises in people with disabilities?
I don't know. I saw a general physiotherapist as I'd had a partially torn achilles tendon. When I saw the chap this time I was in a right state. My legs feel like lead, and knee swollen and painful.
Anyway, he said he needed to refer me on to the scope physiotherapist. I'm guessing he specialises in more serious disorders. I think the physio I saw said he could also prescribe.
Hi Nettac,
I wonder if the consultant meant an 'Extended Scope Physiotherapist (ESP)' - they are a clinical physiotherapy specialist with an extended scope of practice, which in your case may be in musculoskeletal conditions. You can read more about ESP's here: esp-physio.co.uk/about-us/a...
Hope that helps,
Emma-NRAS
