I have not been well since August with my digestive system, last few weeks has taken its toll. I am unable to digest food properly which then aggravates my bowels! I have lost some weight. I am still taking my meds.
I am meeting with a doctor
Monday evening for consultation in view of having a "Capsule Endoscopy" hopefully within the next week.
There's not many hospitals which do this procedure but found one.
Hopefully I will get results and start to feel better. 😭😭😭

You need an investigation of your stomach & bowel. I had the camera put down my throat & another up my back passage. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease & prescribed the necessary medication.
Thank you, I am seeing a consultant tomorrow evening , hopefully he will book me in for a "Capsule Endoscopy" I have had a camera down throat in the past which is not nice. This new procedure is a tablet capsule with a camera inside which will take photos of the whole digestive system. For me this procedure will be kinder without the gagging etc .
Aww Thank you Jan. Consultation in the evening, will then be booked in for procedure. Yes procedure much kinder hate the gagging when had the normal endoscopy.
Hi, I attend an endoscopy unit in London but have never heard of this- it sounds amazing! Do you know if it’s just for the endoscopy element or covers the colonoscopy piece as well? Very interested to know more if you’re able to tell us.
In the meantime how did your appointment go? Nice consultant?
Hi Entero, thank you. Consultation this evening, will need go back for procedure. It does give more details then the normal endoscopy, it goes right through taking hundreds of images as it passes. I am going to a hospital which comes under Croydon would you like the name of hospital ?
What meds are u on? Seems like like lots of us have gut problems. I'm going in for an MRI to check first if I need anymore investigation. UGH it's just another thing on top of everything else hey! Good luck with everything.
I'm taking methotrexate a low dose, along with Hydroxychloroquine, Lansoprazole , Folic acid.
I do have diverticulosis when flare goes into diverticulitis recently had a flare up was put in strong penicillin but have not been right since August.
I have in the past had Helicobacter pylori maybe that's returned.
I hope all goes well with your MRI scan, that you don't need anymore tests.
