I find this WALK exercise is very good after Tai Chi. I just do until I am tired. If I cannot follow the steps, I will just WALK again. Then I can slowly watch and learn.

Hi Amy
That looks fab and importantly , achievable! I’ll be giving the fake hips and knees a shot at it tomorrow morning!!
Marie
Dear Marie,
I find it simple and easy to follow, for those who are still in great pain, can do it slowly at his or her own way, at least he or she still get the exercise needed.
Do it slowly and always try a little difficult movement when you are more confident, it will improve our strength and flexibility slowly. This is my own experience.
I will be going for the Indoor Jump Fun shortly this morning. This is the first time I try this kind of activities, I will see how much I can do but I will not go to the extreme to avoid any problem to my joints.
Try this video if you find it easier to see her do it alone.

I've yet to find a form of exercise that DOESN'T involve walking - my feet and toe joints are so badly affected and pain is severe. Get so sick of seeing /hearing/reading all the "Just walk" advice! Spare a thought for those of us who cannot do it!
I am very sorry to know your condition. However, I would like to share my experience with you here. When I was at the peak of my suffering, I could not bend my ankles and could not sit on the floor. I was in great pain, but my physiotherapist told me just did the exercises slowly to the level of pain I could tolerate and to ensure my joints were slowly back to flexible again.
I did all kind of exercises to make my joints, including the joints of my hands, legs, my neck and my spine, finally I was/am able to bend my legs and to sit on the floor, I no longer walked like a machine and I am able to turn my neck normally.
I do not know how bad is your condition, you can just do the exercise to the level of pain you can tolerate. You can even sit on the chair and move your ankles. To only move and exercise the hands is not enough to put RA patient back into the normal life. This is what I can see, because we need our legs to be more flexible.
This may be good for you to try?

Amy
Hi Amy, thanks so much for that video - I just did it for the first time! I've tried chair exercises before, but this one's good. Now to work on my motivation, ha ha!
I read some quote that just about sums up me and exercise : "When you get the feeling that you want to exercise - lie down until the feeling goes away!!!!"
But seriously, a huge thank you for taking the trouble to post that for me. xx
I am glad that you can try this. I do find this is good too. One can do according to his or her own condition at that moment.
I was unable to hold any weight too at the very early stage, slowly after many months, I tried to pick up some lighter weight and I could already hold it for a little while. Slowly I hold them longer then throughout the whole duration of the exercises.
Now, I have no issue to do as I like. You will be there in a few months time, I have gone through the stage before. Look at me now, I can jump and I can dance though lousy. Hahahaha...
Do let me know your development and progress please.
