Hi everyone
I've just received a date for my tribunal hearing it's 30/10/17. I would be grateful for any advice on what to expect and how to prepare.

If I went as far as the tribunal I was advised to take someone with me. I was going to take my niece who has recently graduated with a law degree but it wasn't needed I was awarded standard rate on appeal.
I know someone went as far as tribunal and it was the thrown out of court as they said that they RA and it's a long term condition.
Hope you get on ok good luck and try not to worry too much.
Sorry I don't know your story but I would take any recent personal medical info with me including appointments.Have you had your consultant inform them and have they had letters from him and your doctors.Any information goes well for you.dont know how you struggle with daily life but I know you have to show how you can not do things etc
I really think this whole PIP thing depends on who you see. Haven't got as far as a tribunal but am assuming there will be someone there who has medical knowledge of RA and if so you won't have anything to worry about. I saw a young guy at my first interview for PIP , with ASOS. He didn't have any idea what the condition entailed. I was awarded the standard rate . At my review earlier this year I had an ex nurse. She was brilliant, asked the right questions about what I could and couldn't do and I ended up being awarded the higher rate of PIP.....and she awarded it for the next five years! Now I'm sure if it had been the young guy again that I wouldn't have received anything like the award I got ( and it was backdated!)
I'm pretty certain that it would be someone medically trained at a tribunal so just list the things that you struggle with . Good luck!
