Hi everyone, hope you are all coping well with the dreaded RA. I have a question? I was taken off MTX in March because of side effects and pending surgery. I went back on it 2 weeks ago at a lower dose and already have nausea and a very sore mouth. I was also wondering if anyone had had a very bad time with sickness & diarrhoea (not sure if the spelling is right). I am due to inject again tomorrow so any help and advice would be appreciated.

Yes, I have a lot of stomach issues with it ( though had a bowel issue before). The nausea and sickness is the worst for me. I have some anti- sickness tablets from the Dr which helps a little. Maybe talk to your rheumy/ doc about anti-sickness tablets? I tried lots of natural remedies- including vast quantities of ginger biscuits (!) But had to resort to meds in the end. The other thing I do is inject just before I go to sleep- get the worst done at night! I also then plan my next couple of days to be gentle so I can cope with the sickness and exhaustion! I hope things get better fgot you x
Hi I'm taking 10mls injections have been since January this year dose is low along with hydroxcholquinne twice a day, Folic acid also celecoxib. Seem to get mouth ulcers , feel nausea also fatigue also upset stomach occasionally feeling little low. Had my sickness meds changed which seem to be working well. I must point out I do have many good days.
Yes I have been taken off MTX now because of side effects and waiting to see consultant re another drug. These drugs are so strong and horrible. Think I might follow the idea of another person on here who started acupuncture.
