I take it, the only side effect I get, is a slight loss of appetite. I take 15mgs, has done wonders for my pains. 😁

I've taken it for years, at varying doses. 25mg at the highest. Occasionally get a little nausea, but not too bad.

I've been on it about three and a half years. I am currently on 22.5mg by Metoject pen. My RA is pretty stable at the moment 😀😀😀

I have dropped from full time work to four days a week which has helped me a lot in managing the fatigue and allowing me to pace myself.

I had lots of problems initially, but they settled down.

Hope that helps! xx

I've been on MTX 8 years, 7 of them on injections, & did have a little hair loss in the first few months but it settled. A good cut helped so I needed less hair product. Nowadays I'm a little more tired & have less appetite the day after, I tend to pick at things rather than have a full meal but being only once a week I can deal with it. Don't forget to take your folic acid as your Rheumy directed, they help reduce side effects, if you do have hany. I've taken it the day after, then the day before too but my present Rheumy prefers to prescribe 6 a week, just not MTX day. When I was on tablets my consultant recommended I split my 15mg dose throughout the day & to take them with meals so I had 2 tablets with breakfast, lunch & dinner. As I say I started on 15mg & my highest dose has been 20mg but my liver doesn't tolerate that too well but I'm fine on 17.5mg. Try to drink plenty of water, that really does help. It's been my best med to date in 9 years & you'd to have a good reason for me to have to stop it!

I hope you respond positively to it & I'd advise you try to focus on it working rather than anticipating on side effects you may or may not have. 😊

Hi

Initially, mouth ulcers, little hair loss , fatigue and sickly feeling for a couple of days after taking it.

All of these have diminished significantly. My only concern is medical team do not feel it's doing what it should be.

Nausea but I take mine about 7pm at night on a sunday then sleep off any side effects. Sometimes I do get a hang over of nausea the next day but only short lived

Have been on this drug over 40 years at various dosages. Previously on tablet form which caused nausea, but have had it in injection form over 20 years without side effects. Best of luck.

I bet you will find everyone has a different answer.

So why look for people who have side effects?

For 18 years I have taken different drugs & have always hoped each one would be the right one for me.....I think if you have a list of side effects ,you will look for them & possibly get them.

I've just had my fifth dose and so far any side effects have been minimal and short-lived, and indeed may just be coincidental. Things like not much appetite (no bad thing!) and a bit of stomach upset on the following days, but nothing major. I take mine (15mgs) late on Saturday night as I can have a lazy Sunday, then Folic Acid on Tuesday morning. Hope this helps!

I initially had mild nausea and stomach cramps. Doable, but I'd have rather not have had them! It faded after the first two weeks. An increased dose lead to some fatigue for the first day or two.
