Any one on benepali for psoriatic arthritis
Hi,
I am on it for Psoriatic Arthritis. I'm afraid it hasn't done much for me, but I've also got OA in all my joints and I was diagnosed v late so had lots of damage. My rheumy tells me it's working at stopping the spread... How are you finding it? X
Im not too sure yet as i started on this was on it for 6 weeks but then had to come off it as iv just had a foot fusion done so just started back on this now only done 2 injections so far iv also got OA i hope i will find this ok i was 44 when i got told i ha PS some days i feel terrible so have good &bad days have they said anything about going on other medication
Hi,
Ouch a foot fusion sounds painful! How are you getting on after it?
I' m 41 and got diagnosed last May, though I think I've had it all my life. They've said the Benepali is working - it just doesn't stop the pain and stiffness I have already. Therefore, they say that another drug won't make any difference.
I know, this disease is awful. For me it changes hour by hour- okay one hour, in agony the next. I'm at the point where I'm getting a motorised scooter- and I used to fell run!
X
Have you been put on any pain medication im on quite a lot aswell as fentenal patches no the benepali is just to slow down the progression not for pain iv always been active lost 2 stone to try help a bit but not made any diffrence my foot is still in a cast and quite sore but hopefully things will work x
Hi,
2 stone? Wow, well done!
I have a stomach condition which means I can't take many pills- so I have a morphine patch and I also take liquid morphine if things get really bad! Is the foot fusion because of PSA? My toes are curling over - I'm worried eventually I'll have to have rods put in- I met someone who had that done.

Yes thats what they said iv also got nuroma in my feet that has to be removed one down one to go bloody arthritis such a painfull condition im still trying to be as active as i can but its getting harder x
Hi mbw
I was diagnosed with PsA over 2 years ago.
I have been through all the initial drugs which unfortunately didn't work.
I have also been on Cimzia, Benepali and Stelara and I am now awaiting delivery of Cosentyx.
Cimzia and Benepali helped with fatigue but unfortunately didn't do enough for pain or progression of the disease for me. Stelara made me worse.
As a result, the consultant has said as I have not responded to anti-tnfs she is starting the new biologic Cosentyx which is made slightly differently which targets a different protein and has shown good response in PsA.
Fingers crossed it works and I hope you get a good response with Benepali. All theses drugs can take some time to work which is frustrating and it's all trial and error.
Wishing you all the best.
