I've been on it for 3 years started off on tablets but kept making me sick

You get more of it, as none 'wasted' in your digestive system. So the same dose should be more effective, but as with everything RA it depends!

I get less severe side effects with injections - something I am hugely grateful for.

I have been on the injections now for almost a year and I find that it is so much better than tablets, much less side effects, and easy to do. Mine are pre filled syringes. Hope you get on alright. X

Hi, I only started on the MTX injections 5 weeks ago....easy to do, doesn't sting and NO nausea at all, just a headache on the day ...obviously too early to show any benefits but fingers crossed.Good luck.

Ps I was told to get a letter from Dr if I went abroad and had to take the syringe with me.

Generally changing from tablets to injections is a positive move as the injection goes straight into the blood steam not the gastro system as tablets do. As such less of the dose is lost so often a lower dose than in tablets can be effective. I was on tablets for a year & when I needed an increase in dose from 15mg to 20mg my liver had a benny so I went onto injections & I was able to go back to 15mg with positive results. I've been on them 7 years, currently on 17.5mg.

I hope you find them better too.

I like the injections better, no more upset tummy! Your body absorbs more mtx because it i goes directly into your blood stream.

All the best to you

Sue
