I had a pair of Bay City Roller long white socks when I was younger: with pictures of the boys along their length...nice eh? Oh, and I recall a pair of white trousers which had the bottom altered into trendy flares by having a triangle of coloured material sewn into the sides - I must have looked very groovy😎 As for hotpants: I wore a light purple pair with a dungeree - style top part and a tight-fitting stripey roll - neck jumper to my sister's wedding!
When I was a teenager I had an afghan coat- it stank! I suppose I was a bit of a hippie- I blame that on my older brother who was a Hendrix fan🎸
Ha ha... I was 7 when I fell in love with the Bay City Rollers. I wanted the tarten garb but my mom wouldn't buy me any Bay City Roller clothes But I sure loved those guys lol
I was a teenager in the mid sixties and Twiggy, Biba, Mary Quant etc were all the rage. My mom was an amazing dressmaker and I only had to show her a picture from Honey magazine (fashion style mag) and mom would have it made in less than a week ! We would go to Wolverhampton market, get the fabric and she never bought a pattern, always made her own. She made me so many wonderful things, but my most favourite were the smock dresses favoured by Twiggy. There was one which was legendary, in a deep claret colour, soft wool fabric with a cream crochet lace collar and long sleeves with crochet cuffs. All my friends loved this dress and wanted mom to make similar for them, I think mom must have made another half dozen for my friends, slightly altering them so they were all unique !!
Looking back now I realise just how very difficult sewing was for mom as she also had RA like I do now. How she managed I don't know because her hands were very painful. Sadly mom passed away at the very young age of 52. .... She taught my eldest daughter embroidery and cross stitch when she was little and she produces beautiful and amazing work, so some of moms skills have been passed on. Xx
A pair of bright red hot pants and a long fringed skirt. Either/or, not at the same time! although that might have looked better. I must have looked horrendous, for although I'm quite tall, I was plump with muscular legs then from cycling five miles to and from school. Now I have weedy legs with large joints in between - also not a pretty sight!
Omg very embarrassed! I had purple hot pants my sister brought me from Germany. I was 10 or 11 and i loved them because they were Donny Osmond favourite colour 😍😜thank goodness there are no pictures !!!!!!
Mine were, tan suede hot pants, Annello and Davide black leather knee boots, and a Biba dress, which was gathered under the bust. Thought I was the bees knees !!!!!
Mine was day to day wear castle shirt stay press trousers crombi coat and the 17 hole doc martins . If out to impress the ladies I wore my wrangler jeans and denim jacket
Lol..I'm glad my post brought a lighter side & some smiles.😃...mine was bleached jeans Fred Perry t-shirt. Loafers.& a cromby.coat...my mum used to pretend she didn't know me if saw me in the street!!! Had some real good times..😍😍..dosnt match my all time favourite record though..you to me are everything..by the real thing..so what's yours.??
Sometimes just good to remember things that take mind off what's going on within self & others..not selfish just time out...my get out clause is music..I have such a variety of likes & memories of each record..e.g. When I heard Elton John's record back in 80's NIkita.. I loved & knew if ever I had a daughter that would be her name...my daughter "Nikita" is now 21..😁😁
My first Elton John record was crocodile rock and the b side was my favourite and for the life of me i can't remember what it is called though i can hear it in my head.xxxxx
