Hydroxychloroquine and Meloxicam

I feel I'm one of the lucky ones compared with others writing in this forum, though it still feels RA has had a big impact on my life over the last year.

My Rheumy put me on HXQ four months ago and following my last appointment in Feb told me I was in remission. (No swollen joints, anti CFPP very low, mild fatigue and minimal stiffness on waking). He said I could contact him by email (how nice is that!) if there was any change. I told him a couple of weeks ago that I had a minor flare and ibuprofen wasn't helping much. Am now taking daily meloxicam 15mg to go with the HCQ. So far, so good.

Anyone else on the HXQ and Meloxicam combo? If so can I expect remission to last?

I took Hydrochloroquine and meloxicam for several years with only minor flare-ups - then the rheumatologist decided I didn't need treatment and took me off. I was OK for a while then had a major flare...and since then have not been having a good time.

Thanks old timer. Were you seronegative ra when they put you on HXQ and Meloxicam and was your ra relatively mild?
