Hi, my names Sara I am currently waiting for a right hip replacement, I am currently taking cocodamol, gabapentin and codiene, it's not the best solution as I'm currently off work but want to get back to my job. What medication ( combinations ) have helped you to carry on - if any ? Thanks you for your time in advance πŸ‘

Hi ive been waiting for almost nine years then due to getting breast cancer had to be postponed hence still in total agony I'm just on cocodemols 500 as also on other tablets doctor keeps saying can't give you anything stronger. Im also wriggled with arthritis so makes me almost totally housebound I've always been such an active person but as I do my lawns each week keep plodding on all the best to you

I did look up food that can have "adverse effects" on the arthritis and was gutted to find out chocolate was on it β˜ΉοΈπŸ˜„ Although I'm trying to lose and keep weight off I have noticed if I cheat or have a bad day and chocolate is involved my pain does seem worse. Sorry to hear about the recast cancer I hope things are in remission. Is any of yr arthritis operable? Or is it you just have to get on with it ? I know we do just have to keep plodding on and dealing with life one step at a time . X

I keep to the over 70% choclate and leave out gluten, dairy and sugar. No problem with eather weight or chocolate. Worth a try😊

I've just learned to live with it now as I'm 73 next month and don't fancy anymore operations. I'm in remission now as it was Sept 2010 when i had my lumpectomy and radiation I refused chemo as apparently it only gives you an extra 2% so I didn't think it was worth the added pain

congratulations on the remission and for your positive attitude which isn't easy regardless of age. The positive thing with me being off is I'm doing more crafts at home x

Do you Rheumatoid Disease or is osteoarthritis causing the problem with the hip? The management will be a bit different.

The cure for the hip is to replace it with a nice shiny ceramic one πŸ˜„ And hope it works well as in the future I have to have the left one done at some point. But with all the pills they dish Out I wish one fixed it instead 😊

I do think keeping busy helps - love my garden but I'm the type of I buy the dying plants ( they look so sad and neglected) and plant them and see what happens ! Makes for an interesting garden πŸ˜„ I have bushes which I still don't know what they are but hey they grew πŸ˜„
