I want to thank everyone for their replies it is very helpful. it is ashame we are in the 20th centuey and the medical field cant get it right withour side effects admittedly the doctors do a great job and goodaye to all from Australia

Hi there Rocky, sorry im a bit lost, are you based in Oz or have you left Oz?.Im really sorry you are suffering sise effects, sometimes as the RA gets sorted out the side effects become more of a concern than the disease but these normally settle down in time as you become used to the meds. I hope you start to make more progress soon.

Well I'm very pleased I live in the 21st century!

If we were still in the 20th century for most of it there were no drugs at all for this disease. If you got it early in the century all you had to look forward to was pain and damage, and probably an early death.

So although it's not perfect, it's heading in the right direction and maybe one day not that far off they'll be a cure or a treatment that doesn't need drugs.

admittedly the drugs do keep us going putting up with some side effects and some nasty ones but I remember my grandfather lived till 95 my grandmother till85 and they only took bex and st Vincent powders and sometimes asprin no side effects and not a lot of suffering
