My DLA is stopping and I have to apply for PIP.
What is the timescale please between receiving the forms and completing them.

Thank you.

Hi, when i got my first letter telling me about flat and pip.
You need to phone a number on the letter and they send another letter about two later, fill it in then with a lot of evidence about how your illness effects your daily living, i hot a text message to say they have now have paper work. And about 2/3 weeks i got my PIP, what a relief, Lol.
Best of luck
Philip.
There some lovely on this site and they should be able to advise you better than i can Lol.
I got my forms within a week. Returned them and then and then received a text saying I had to see a health accessor. This was set up within two weeks. Had my award within three weeks of that and it was backdated. For me it was a smooth processing
I need to ring DLA this morning as it's 6 weeks since I informed them my condition has changedone and still haven't had any forms to fill in from PIPS
Before you full in the form take Benefits &Works web side.
Thank you yes I intend joining.
Mine was 2 weeks bit also hot a letter from welfare rights who said they would come help me to fill the forms in, i thought they were going to do the assessment Lol and it worried the hell out of me Lol, but then i realised they were helping me Lol.you can get help from the C A B, they know what they need to do. Well worth contacting them.
Philip
Hi there, the answer to your question is im afraid about the sane as the one about the length of a piece of string. When you make the phine call which is the only way to move this you will be told you have 28 days to apply. In my case 26 days later i got the form to fill in and when i say "form" that is like refering to War and Peace" as a novel. What they dont tell you is that the 28 days starts when they send out the form by second class post. When you have looked at the "form" pkease please get as much advice as you can about what you put and how you say it. I am not suggesting for one moment that you put anything that is not true, but how you say what you say is as important as the content. When they get the form back they will advise you if you wilk have a face to face assessment, 99.99% of people have a face to face. That may be at a centre office or at your home depending on your condition and ability to cope with travelling, you may need to ask for a home assessment and you may or may not get one. It seems to me that more people get home assessments for PIP than got them for DLA. After they get the rrport from the assessment the DWP msy ask you or proffessionals for more info, but that is rare it seems. After a few weeks they will write with their decision. You can accept it or ask for a nandstory reconsideration, after thst if you still disagree you can ask for an appeal, after that if you still disagree you can ask for a court tribunal, as far as i an aware the tribunal decision is final. With my DLA i went righy through the process with nothing only for the Tribunal to over turn the decision and give me both awards at high rate with 18 months back pay. Wgen the letter re change to PIP came i wanted to give up there and then, i knew i was not capable of going through that sgsin becsuse my life was too dependant on those benefits. To my surprisevi filked in the form had a home assessment which i did not get on DLA, then waited 2 weeks and got highest award on mobility and care components. I have to say many people are quicker, many arr slower and many get a result they dont agree with.
This is my advice. Dont assume that because you get DLA you will get anything, dont also assume they know anything about you apart from your name, address, date of birth and NI number and check they have got those correct before doing anything else. Assume you are being asked the questions on the form by an idiot and one that knows nothing about you or anything to do with your condition(s) ad answer accordingly, send every bit of paper evidence you can find ( mine was 27 pages) and keep a copy of everything you send. Please take advice about every single question that applies to you and how to answer it, then answer fully and honestly.
Many people have been very stressed by the process, some sail through without a care and others appear to have opened the gates of hell. To be fair most seem to be ok and i hope that is your experience. Im sure you will get offered the links to find the help on here and to other sights but i will leave that to others because its not my best field from a smart phone and being a plonker.
Good luck and take a deep breath and im sure you will be fine. Kindest regards. Leon
