Hello all yesterday I had my PIP assessment can anyone tell me if it is refused do they give the reasons why I am a bit worried because two weeks ago I had a steroid injection although I am still in pain it took the edge off and the swelling down and I am concerned the assessor took this into account thank you

They are not there to diagnose your condition but to assess you daily living needs it's always hard to tell which way things go in assessments and they are so unpredictable you will get to know the reason you pass or fail good luck with it all please keep us posted

Hi I had my assessment and was refused mobility which I had previously. You are entitled to ask for a copy of the notes should you get refused and need to appeal.

I need to apply to, hope it goes well for you, I just think I'll be refused same as you to look at me you'd think I was ok but I struggle alot with daily tasks!

as has been mentioned already, you should be sent (if not ask) for a copy of the report on which the decision was based. If you do have any problems please fell free to ring the helpline to have a talk about what to do:

I wasn't refused PIP so can't give accurate info on if the reasons are set out if you're refused but let's look on this positively, if you're awarded it the letter you receive lists the reasons why you've received the rates you have. The assessor does just that & assesses. As you know they cover most of what you've answered in the form plus he/she will have taken into account things like walking, how you communicate & engage with people (the assessor in this case), how you're dressed & your overall appearance etc, all the things that writing on a form can't be accurately marked on.

I phoned the DWP & requested a copy of the report after I'd had my assessment, in fact after I'd applied for Mandatory Reconsideration stupidly but no reason why you can't ring the DWP now & ask for a copy, though there could be a delay because of course they've to process the assessor's findings. The phone no will be on the covering letter which came with your form, you'll need to quote your WK reference in the top lh corner.

Like you I had a steroid injection a week before my assessment and I told the assessor and she took it into account there was not a lot of swelling on my joints, but I did show her pictures on my phone of pre steroid joints

Yes I didn't do that because my joints were not as swollen but in pain more. Did you get the right decision?

yes I got enhanced in living and mobility. My assessment was on the 20/12/16 and I was notified I got pip on 10/01/17 so they are quick with results. best of luck
