Hubby has flu, should I be worried?

My hubby has the flu, the full works shaking, feeling cold, aches pains and a temperature 38.4 to match.

I have had the flu jab. However, my asthma is playing up for 2 weeks now. Also restarted MTX on Saturday.

I know my job is to look after him (he is so rarely ill). But am worried for myself?

Any suggestions it ideas?

If you've had the flu jab you have some immunity from the top three circulating strains. Because we're immune compromised we're not fully protected but should dampen down symptoms. Pleanty of fluids paracetamol and ibuprofen for hubby plus rest (if he can take ibuprofen) Good hand hygiene for yourself but that doesn't help with regards to airborne droplets 😷 depends on when you had the jab cause takes 10-14 days to build up some immunity and which strain hubby has x

Hi

Just been thru the same thing with my hubby.

He had full blown flu really poorly.Hes not a man flu person at all so I know it wasn't exaggerated it really floored him.Its now nearly a month later that he is back to full strength.

Firstly it all depends when you had a jab as it takes a little while to be effective in your system.While my hubby was ill I slept in the spare room so we didnr disturb each other at night .

Lastly I bought one of this hand sanitisers as germs get everywhere,

Having had the flu jab doesn't mean you are totally protected against flu only certain types,so you may still be vulnerable.

So really just be sensible about it.Dont purposefully put yourself in the way of risk and keep hubby well hydrated and treat him with paracetamol and aspirin .

Update

Not flu, bad infection, he is now in the local hospital for the night on antibiotics and fluid. So home alone tonight, but hope for the best tomorrow.
