Thorn in my finger

I was pulling up random plants from my lake and a plant pricked my finger I can't tell if the thorn broke off in my finger or not but it really hurts and my finger kind of tingles I don't know if the plant is poisonous or not I've poured peroxide on it and it still hurts I feel sick now I think it might just be I'm afraid it's poisonous.

Not really sure how to advise you but if you really think this is a poisonous plant and you are concerned then get yourself to A &E.

If you can try and take a cutting of the plant and take it with you it may help them to know what they are dealing with.

Just be careful you don't get any more thorns in you!!!If it's not practical to do this leave it alone.

You could wait for a while to get a response on this site at this time of night so if you have genuine concerns get yourself off there now or contact out of hours surgery for their advice.

You can take a photo of the plant if taking a sample is impractical

I had something similar. I had a thorny woody plant in my garden I wanted to remove. The thorn went through my gardening gloves. My finger hurt like hell and went numb. I took an anti histamine that I take for hay fever and put germoline on it. Went away after about 5 hrs. Worried me it did. But if you are really concerned then Doctors or A&E or an Urgent care walk in centre if you have one where you live. Hope it's better soon.

Hi , I think your finger is infected , usualy the tingling is a sign of it , if a was me I try to check the cut for pus or redness , if the thorn is inside the finger I would try to take it out, and wrap cotton balls Socked whit a lot of rubbing alcohol and some triple antibiotic cream on it , and live it for at list a day . This is only my opinion I had some similar exsperience

Worth going to A&E have you thought about an adder bite?

Just that you mentioned you were near a lake and I had read about a little boy getting bitten in the paper.

Most probably a thorn.
