That's great news Sue! Now, about your Rheumy... no joy there yet? I suppose it's too much to wish for both in the same day? x

No joy with rheumy. He refused to sign the papers, yet he cashed the cheque I gave him to fill out the papers. Not impressed with that. (it cost $50 for paperwork where I live) I have my next appointment with him on June 13th and I want my money back.

I am no expert on RA drugs...but...I've been on hydroxy 400 mg daily since Nov 2014. I've been on 2000mgs of sulfa since last August. My sulfa was upped to 3500mg since January 2016...I donot believe this combo is working for me. I mean it's been 5 months and my hands are still swollen and I am unable to work. I want to know why am I not on MTX?

Kind of sounds strange that I'm hoping for MTX.I read posting about people fearing it. I just hate that my pain and disability has gotten worse. Time for a new drug.

I will ask my GP to send me to another rheumy if my current rheumy does not change my medication.

I am thrilled that this paperwork will not only hold my position for 2 years as I try to find the right drug combo. But this paperwork gives me 75% of my pay. After the 2 years this paperwork will allow me to be trained in another occupation, or be medically retired.

For goodness sake, how can he sleep at night? That is just not on taking your money & not doing as was requested of him. Any joy with Fraiser Health?

You keep pushing for MTX, though it would seem given his conduct with the form you'd be better off asking your GP to refer you to someone else anyhow Sue. Whoever you see shouldn't rely on a previous Consultant's findings anyway & will perform their own tests, new blood work, review your meds etc & realise you're not well enough controlled on your current meds & doses.

The paperwork is going to really going to make so much difference isn't it? That's really good news. x

Yes it is such really good news. I sent the paperwork through Priority Post, I know it's expensive at $20.00 , but I want the documents delivered as fast as possible and with a signature.

I have cancelled the appointment with the disability lawyer. I'm just so happy at the moment :)

Oh and yes, I am surely going to request another rheumy. I need a second opinion on my meds.

It is a 6 month wait in my area to see a rheumy. So I will go and "play nice" with the rheumy I have in June. I just hope he will start me on new meds. Then I will never see him again.

Thank you so much Nomoreheels for all your advice. You are a very special lady xxoo

What excellent news!! I bet you are welled chuffed with that.

Just hope things go as well with getting a new Rheumy on board.

Will keep fingers crossed for you!

(Actually that's a silly thing for me to say today as I can't cross my fingers they're too swollen. But it's meant in spirit if you know what I mean.I will try again tomorrow)

All the best.
