Soory i can't help you Pat,but sending hugs to you both.xxxxx
I don't have UC but do have Lymphocytic Colitis. I was on Humira for 14 months ( mainly for PsA) and only had a couple of flares of LC. Now taking Enbrel. I had no side effects from Humira after first few injections (very bad headaches at first) and with Enbrel I'm having site reactions but hey are bearable so far, and I've had no flares of LC for about a year now ( fingers crossed I've not jinxed myself now, lol!) I hope your husband does well on Simponi. Clemmie
Hi Pat
The majority of people who are using this forum and on golimumab will be taking it for rheumatoid arthritis, rather than ulcerative colitis, though there is a possibility that someone could be taking the medication for both conditions.
I expect you have posted this on some UC forums as well, but in case you hadn't found any, I have done a quick search for you:
ulcerativecolitis.org.uk/co...

I have been on this since November I use an auto inject pen it's really easy. No side effects just headache a day or so after injection but nothing too troubling. It's great for some people but not really working for my RA and I'm being reviewed in May. But I'd say give it a try.
Hope this is helpful.
It could be someone here is treated with Simponi (golimumab) for UC as it is a treatment used for RD too, but maybe you could also ask on the Healthunlocked Crohn's & Colitis UK site healthunlocked.com/crohnsan.... This from ARUK gives lots of info arthritisresearchuk.org/art...
I hope it works well for your husband & helps his UC Pat.
Thankyou all so much for all your replies xx
