I had a flu jab months ago but have now come down with the lurgy. Hot and cold shivers the works but I'm worried about my chest, the pain is bad just breathing but was just in agony trying to eat my porridge.
Do we just hope our bodies can fight it or is it a doctor's visit?

Definitely call the doctors, you're on MTX aren't you? If it settles on your chest you're more at risk of pneumonia if you leave it. Not wishing to frighten you but it's not something to just leave & see. If you have problems with taking your little ones ask for a home visit, probably better anyway if you'd struggling with breathing. I've been told this year's vaccine is more effective but my GP's seeing many people who haven't had their flu jab because of last year's lack of cover which I suppose leaves us vulnerable from those who chose not to have it.
If you are at all worried, then definitely see your doctor. This flu that is going around can get really nasty, and one of the things that doctors need to watch out for is a viral pneumonia. Definitely worth having your doctor take a closer look to make sure everything is still OK.
