This morning and the cold I've been trying to fend off declared itself last night. The actual op isn't planned til 5 November but will they postpone it yet again! Just adding to the stress. I'll post later.

Hi Cathie, Oh that's rotten luck! Really hope that you can fight it off in time for your op. Especially when you get yourself psyched up for it, how very annoying. Wishing you well in extra quick time. Smiler x

Oh, Cathie, I can imagine how you feel. I'm trying to think of something that would speed it up for you so that you are clear by the 5th. The important thing is to stop it going into your chest. I think they would be more worried about a cough than a cold. J x

It's a little way off yet Cathie so hopefully your op won't be affected. Hope you feel better soon x

Update. I'm still ok for the 5 th for my knee replacement. They were very thorough, the appointment took about two hours. A long session with a nurse on my medications, allergies, tests for things like Mrsa urine infection etc. All ok. They didn't notice my sniffing and I intend to keep well away from children etc. The appointment with the registrar was interesting, the previous one had all my dmard failures down as allergies and so we put that right. And he found that I'd been put down for an expensive anti clotting drug which he said was being promoted by the manufacturers but which might cause things like strokes. I can't remember the name, but he proposed aspirin, which I'd much prefer and which my husband had for his hip replacement.

He was from the north of England and i asked him how he was finding it here in Scotland and he said that he prefers the working conditions here as there's more time to talk to patients and the hours are better. I found that very reassuring.

Now I have to shake off this cold and make sure it doesn't go to my chest. So a little sleep now to make up for 6am start.
