I spoke to the dr on Wednesday and got told to take the rescue pack i had in the cupboard and to ring him today. He came out this afternoon to check me over and said i have fibrosis now to add to the mix. I am down the hospital on the 1st of June for respiratory to see what they can do about it. Just something else for me to fight. xxxx

Sorry to hear this Sylvia. One of the potential problems with rheumatoid arthritis and the drugs we have to use to control it is lung issues including fibrosis. Our weakened immune system make us susceptible to infections and if you are unlucky and have had lots of chest infections, pulmonary fibrosis sometimes can be the result. It's no wonder you are having problems with your breathing. I hope your respiratory team can help you manage this condition and improve things for you. You already have so much to deal with and you don't need anymore. Xx

Well you say that but we do have choices , I think that when we get poorly it’s best to try and fight it this should make us stronger mentally and then physically will follow hopefully . It’s a lovely sunny day . But still really cold . If you have a bad chest then this weather is too cold to go out in xxx

Have you ever tried inhaling steam over a bowl for some comfort, how is Bob getting on , he is a very kind person to you .

sylvi profile image
sylvi in reply torabbits65

Not given that a thought darling. I will give it a go and see what happens. Bob is on the mend as the drug he was on was causing him major problems and within 24hrs of stopping he was better and has been ever since. xxxx

Does the respiratory specialist know about the fibrosis. Have you had a CT. I ask as I had a T last year which showed fibrosis, my gp had sent a routine referral to respiratory at the same time as ordering the CT. They weren’t seeing routine patients but when I explained my diagnosis I was seen in 2 weeks. Perhaps see if they can bring your appointment forward. If not your gp could order your HRCT and lung scan to avoid delays when you do see respiratory. It is a stressful time and an emotional rollercoaster. Sending hugs 🤗
