Hi have spoken to nurse and cannot suggest anything else. I am waiting to have Infliximab infusion has any one else had this thanks
Hi, I had it for about year, for me it worked really well for a couple of weeks after each infusion at first but gradually became less effective until I had to stop as it wasn't working at all. I had no side effects and when it did work it felt like when you are on steroids - a lot more energy and a huge reduction in pain. The nurses at the day clinic were lovely, it wasn't a bad experience at all. xx
Hi I have had RA for 40 plus years and have had several operations and joint replacements. I have also been on Infliximab at 6 weekly intervals now for about 10 years, together with Methotrexate and other DMARDs and I cannot fault it. It is brilliant as far as I am concerned and I would be in a lot more pain if I wasn't getting it. However, it doesn't stop 'flare-ups' and you have to accept that with RA it is not going to go away. Everyone is different and you have to persevere and give any help you get a chance. I am sure that your Rheumatologist will be closely monitoring you and if Infliximab doesn't do the job, there are lots of other versions of Anti-TNFs that I am sure will suit you. I wish you all the best, but don't give up. I promise you that you will find what suits you. Best wishes Brian.
Hello I had Infliximab infusions for five years and it was an absolute miracle drug for me. I know everyone is different and nobody knows how particular meds will work for particular people but it totally changed my life. For those five years it almost felt as if I didn't have RA - and that was 7 years into aggressive RA when I had had almost every other med available and was pretty much out of options. Unfortunately after 5 years it disagreed with me and I had to stop but I would go back on it tomorrow if they would let me. I too worry about side effects but I actually prefer infusions to self medication at home because I feel better supported and know I am in the right place for help if I have a problem. If you do go for Infliximab I hope it works as well for you as it did for me x
Thank you will let you no how it goes 😊
Hi, I have had pretty aggressive RA for almost 6 years now and have had more than a few surgeries on my knees and left ankle due to severe joint damage. I am currently having infliximab infusions every 8 weeks and it has really helped me. My RA seems to be well controlled at the moment and my mobility has improved quite a lot.So far, no side effects. It truly is a miracle drug. If you decide to go for infliximab, I hope it helps you too, like has for me.
