Pain Relief
Hello! I got one a couple of years ago, I sometimes found it quite painful but I don't think it really is I think I am just so sensitive sometimes! I didn't find it helped and soon forgot about it. But, saying that, my husband sometimes puts pressure using just two fingers or a thumb on trigger points (hard/tense sore points) on my back and shoulders which sometimes hurts like hell and he tends to push hard and keep it there until my muscle begins to relax a little and I have found this is actually quite helpful in helping me get comfortable and go to sleep at night. I do find it painful and sometimes I can't do it, the point is to get that tense patch to relax. Deep breaths and try to focus on relaxing that muscle, it does relax you can feel it softening.
Getting him to stroke or massage I also find really relaxing, may not take the pain away but may help reduce the stress of it and help sleep also. Oxytocin is like the love hormone and has many uses (particularly in child birth!!) but it can also help with pain and it is produced when we are loved, touched, happy. So encourage your lovely husband to try out some massage and gentle touch. It's nice he's trying to find ways to help you. xx
You could need to be shown how to use it as you should not be using to much intensity

Have words with the GP and arrange an appointment with possibly a Physio or OCT who will look into how you attempt working in kitchen, bathroom and getting around
Sometimes a Pain Clinic can be approached and they discuss pain control with TENS and Pain Pens. Now there are many things that can control pain and the Pain Clinic will most probably give you a dual tens machine. and discuss other aids in getting around etc
These days these bits of kit, even a pen can be purchased without prescription, you can go to Boots and Lloyds and they sell machines as well. There are also many companies on the Internet who have many different types of machine. and they will advise.
I generally use BODY CLOCK, one thing you also need to know that may help is that when we are disabled we are allowed to claim back the VAT, this can in many cases will be given over the counter.
Remember also if you purchase many types of adaptations they are also VAT exempt.

Thanks for coming back to me. Saw my rhemy Dr. last week and he will not up my tablets at the moment, he said just carry on with gel that they gave me and pain killers. Because of other problems not allowed to take strong tablets so am stuck at the mo. Will contact my O.T. like you said and see what she can do. Thanks.
