Are you not on any pain relief or dmards ? If that’s all you’re taking and it’s not enough then you should speak to your rheumy/GP as there are various options. I hope you get some pain relief soon.

If your kidneys are involved please please only be guided by your Nephrologist as many drugs affect the kidneys like Ibuprofen and Co codamol. I'm surprised the Embril has not been stopped as well. Don't take steroids unless your consultant allows it or Ciminitide or indeed a lot of common OTC stuff. And even your GP might contact the Nephrologist as meds like Pregabalin have to be adjusted.

If you are only on Embrel and still in so much pain it doesn't sound very successful.I would contact my rheumatologist if I was you. Maybe a short fix of steroid would help .I used to rub ibuprofen gel into my joints which helps

My GP has given me naproxen. Its stronger than ibruprofen . A nurse relative of mine says 8 paracetomol a day (as it says on box.. no more) are very effective but you have to keep up a regular dose.. good luck

Often it’s useful first to work out with your doctor what’s causing the pain. Best to try to tackle the source of the pain if possible, like inflammation, damaged joints and so on before accepting that you have no option but to take things for the effects, like nerve pain.

So if you have active inflammation that the Enbrel isn’t controlling then maybe need a change of drug first?

You could try DiMethylSulfoxide - DMSO- paste for topical use. You can find it on the NCBI PubMed website with some studies.
