Hi, did you have steroids too as I have found I did gain weight on these.
I sounds like you have given it a good trial and you could do with discussing your options with rheumatology. Maybe you are having a flare up or msybe the treatment isn't controlling your RA enough?
Remember your pain killers and self help with hot/ cold pads too but I would defo chat with them if possible ? Xxxx
I think your Rheumy needs to be answering your question. He will be the one to recommend if you need anything changing or if your blood test results aren't right. It's possible your increase weight is due to being less active & your Rheumy should be able to refer you to physio or your GP to a dietician to look at your eating regime. Sometimes it helps to have a check on your food intake as it can help with your problems which could well be compounded by the extra weight.
Good luck.
Hi
I am sorry to hear about the pain you are in at the moment and wonder if your knee pain is perhaps down to osteoarthritis rather than the RA? Have you seen a physio, as this could perhaps help with the pain or perhaps you may need an walking aid for a while until the pain subsides. Also your gait is important and a referral to podiatry might be helpful. Weight gain is listed as one of the uncommon side effects (1in 1000) of Orencia so may in part be one of the reasons for this increase in weight. As others have suggested, talk to your rheumatology team to seek their advice. I very much hope that things start to improve for you soon.
Best wishes
Lorraine
