Sorry to hear this... which foramina are being compressed? What r your symptoms?

I've had lots of stenosis and know the pain you are going through... it can get very bad.

Have you seen a neurosurgeon yet?

Hi Dianne... are you in a wheelchair and do you have Rheumatoid Arthritis or another inflammatory condition?

Sounds to me like you need to get a referral to a neurosurgeon, he is the one who will be able to tell you if he can help you or not. I hope your GP can help and get you seen sooner than April 16th. I know continual pain can be very depressing and make you feel really bad. I'd go back to the GP and tell her/him you arent coping and you need more help.

Hi missdiane

i agree with net buddy I wouldn't listen to anybody until you see a neurosurgeon, surely they are better qualified to know what surgery you can and can't have. Sometimes these surgeon know of pioneering techniques in other areas of the uk they can refer you too. NRAS can help you with tips on how to handle gp and rheumatologist. Why not call the helpline?

Come back on here anytime you need support, advice, to express yourself. We will be here for you

Take care

You might want to ask about being referred to a neurosurgeon to see if there is anything that can be done about it.

Thank you everyone and i will take all your advise as it seems to be pointing to the same solution to see a nuro surgeon, i must go to my gp this week as the pain from my right shoulder downwards hurts to crying point to along with this if i turn sharp, reach out for a object i cant easy reach it pulls and hurts ,during the night i have to rub my right arm and left leg and then rub chilli cream in i dont think it helps a great deal but i try my hubby as 2 nights of and he rubs my legs, sometimes even my wrists ache do you thi k its all connected, and if anyone else suffers if you go out to do a little bit of shopping with someone or for eample my grandchildren come to ours for a few hours i pay the next day as i am in bed most of the day and do you think heat helps i do a little x
