Hi I'm so sorry you are in so much pain.

Do you know what type of problem there is in your knee. We all have rheumatoid arthritis which gives you pain swelling and inflammation and stiffness of your joints, normally both sides of the body at the same time.

So I'm not as up to date with nerve knee pain although that must be absolutely so painful. Did your doctor give you painkillers or do any scans for you?

For this type of pain I think the doctor is your best adviser and I hope you feel better very soon .

Oh and how the doctor expects you to ignore severe pain I have no idea, do go back to them and tell them you really need more help x

Keep pushing for answers. I feel when we have complex pain problems or conditions that present atypically, that Drs just don't know what to do and so are dismissive instead of admitting they don't know and helping you look for answers.

Stay strong and determined and keep on fighting your corner! x

I twisted my knees 4 years ago and was told to go away and take paracetamol and lose weight. I had no scans or xrays done. Paracetamol isnt strong enough to take this pain away. After several courses of physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and numerous doctors appointments with nothing done I now have mobility problems with severe osteoarthritis and need knee replacements I also have RD. My Uncle who damaged his knee at the same time I did had a knee arthroscopy straight away and he has been fine since. You need to go back to doctor and ask for scan on your knee to rule out meniscal tears or other ligament and tendon problems and maybe ask for physiotherapy. Hope you feel better soon. Joolz.x
