Has anyone experienced this kind of pain in their finger? ...

I was on my phone and randomly felt a pain like a pin or a splinter kind of pain on the tip of my index finger in the middle it and really hurt lmao and it feels like a small little ball there now and it still hurts like stings sort of, kind of felt like something popped but I'm not sure has anyone experienced this?

Hi.... I had my first flare in March which started with my fingers. The first symptoms in them was like paper cuts in the ends - the joints near the top of my fingers over the next few days started to develop hard painful nodules. I have had 2 steroid jabs since and started on meds, however the nodules remain. More recently the base of my thumb has felt like a splinter in them - they have now become achy and sore....

My Rheumy said nodules or pain in the top joints of fingers and thumbs only occurs in Oesteoarthritis...and changed her original diagnosis which stated R.A. despite the fact have it in my wrist and other finger joints , ankles etc!!! My MRI and Bone Spect CT scan both showed extensive spinal arthritic damage.

Hi Tana, I found your post very interesting, I also have a very similar problem but in my case it's on my right hand

ring finger, it feels as though their is a small hard lump just beneath the skin at the top of my finger, I did talk to the Consultant on my last visit, his view was don't worry about it. My medication is "Simponi" injections monthly for R/A and 4mg "Prednisolone" (steroid tablets) daily. If you have any further information I would be interested.
