I can't grasp anything without feeling like my hand is going to rip open. Was trying to clean kitchen cupboards yesterday wirh a cloth and had to keep stopping as felt like my hand was tightening up
Does anyone else get what feels like cramp in the pal... - NRAS
Does anyone else get what feels like cramp in the palm of their hands?
Yes, I get regular cramping mainly in my fingers but it can at times, extend down the back of my hand and into palm too.
I do tend to get it when I'm not so well. It is very sore when it happens.
Right now I feel as if building work is going on in my hands. There is cramping, swelling, zinging, shooting pains.... Check with your GP if worried. Hope you get relief soon.
I think I get cramp in my wrists, they will suddenly seize up and it’s agony to move at all then after a few minutes it will go. I must mention it at my next appointment.
I do get them too - but realised that it generally happens when I use my hands, fingers or wrists to grab something, hold or carry a weight or do extensive typing or spend time lugging your phone in your hand . I give my hands rest immediately, not use phone in bad or put it in a bag when out - it eases up a bit . It can be a very horrible debilitating pain 😛
Yes I too have cramping in my hands and it’s horrible I had both hands done for Carpel tunnel about 10 years ago which really helped with those symptoms but I still suffer with them seizing up 😞
Hi I get similar pains usually when I’ve been over using my hands...using the phone/computer for too long, holding a book, lifting and carrying things, anything that involves a twisting action, too much gardening....pretty much anything which involves hands really. My doctor diagnosed tendonitis ....and it is excruciating. So I try and limit what and how long I do things for. To relieve the pain Ive tried soakingthem in both hot and cold water ....works briefly for me ....and using a cold pack seems to help as does the Ibuprofen gel I get on prescription. If I’m really desperate I resort to paracetamol or Naproxin! I was referred to a physiotherapist who gave me some exercises to strengthen my hands and lower arms and also help with flexibility as well as advising on how to do all these everyday tasks which cause us so much frustration and pain. Since then....and as long as I do the exercises things and remember to go easy .....things have improved. Also I ask for help more !
Good luck. I hope things improve for you.
I too get cramp ing in hands and sometimes middle finger on left hand gets stuck and have to pull it back up. Seems to happen also when over use of hands,so then exercise them and rest up. It can be difficult to rest them sometimes as hands are always in use.
I put my splints on for lifting and gardening to give support x
