NRAS has been asked to make you aware of this opportunity to participate in some research being carried out by Royal Cornwall Hospitals. If you do wish to participate or find out more please contact the researchers directly however NRAS would love to know if you do take part in the focus groups so please email volunteers@nras.org.uk to let us know if you register to take part. Thank you. Clare

What do you think health professionals need to know to provide better care for people with arthritis?

People with Arthritis see a wide range of health professionals who work in their communities including nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, podiatrists and pharmacists. A team of researchers from Royal Cornwall Hospital and Exeter Medical School are trying to find out what education these health professionals need so that they are better able to understand, recognise and care for arthritis. We want to hear the experiences of people with arthritis who receive care from these health professionals and their views on what makes good arthritis care.

To do this we are holding focus groups in Truro, Bristol and Exeter at the end of May/early June 2014. To attend one of these groups you must be 18 or over and have been diagnosed with arthritis. The focus group will take approximately 90 minutes. Those attending will be reimbursed all travel costs and offered a Marks & Spencer or Love2Shop voucher for £15 as a thank you.

To take part or find out more about this project, please contact Dr Jo Erwin on 01872 256431 or email Josephine.Erwin@rcht.cornwall.nhs.uk
