Question do you get ulcers in the mouth with RA

Had flare up since middle december and this my third mouth ulcer this one has become infected so can you let me know if anyone else has experienced this problem in association with the RA thank you in advance you guys are so helpful don't know where I would be without you

Can depend on the medications you are taking, you on DMARDS or Biologics ??

No as I have no treatment just painkillers when needed as doctor not willing to acknowledge my RA I have been diagnosed for a few years had a DVT lung clots all due to RA so this is my only medium to be able to talk about symptoms but thank you for replying

Hi, my mouth ulcers always come in a flare. I have used mouthwashes various gels & been prescribed folic acid. They go & come back

I've heard folic acid helps to prevent mouth sores.

I have always had problems with ulcers. Was told it can be associated with mtx. If they are really bad I desolve a Corlan tablet on it. Get it from the chemist. No longer a prescription drug. I only need 1 or 2 to get a benifit.

Yes I do and was prescribed folic acid partly for this reason if ulcers are occuring in similar area there may be another cause so if you havnt had a dental check up since you got the first one go see the the tooth quack, make sure you advise them on your meds, I have a wonderful dentist and she told me that mtx can have a notable effect on oral problems most of which can be treated. Good luck.

I dont know about RA, I have thryoid problem, but know that mouth ulcers can be sign of vit b12 deficiency

I am on MTX, so do get a lot of painful,mouth ulcers. Always have at least 1 in my

Mouth.

I had mouth ulcers with methotrexate and took folic acid daily until it didn't help and then took Leucovorin. I am now on actemra only and mouth sores again so taking folic acid hope it helps, too.
