Hi nellysgran, Sorry to hear you are in so much pain you don't say what other meds you are on, phone your GP tell him/her that the painkillers are not strong enough It sounds like Steroids may help you. Matt
Morning nellysgran, i think you should contact your gp as you might need more help. Hope you soon feel better.xxx
Hello Nelly
If you are really bad, make an appointment with your GP. While waiting for that have a nice, hot soaking bath. If you do not have a bath, massage the back with a hard, hot shower around the effected area.
The other thing, if you have one is use your TENS machine while having a nice, milky hot chocolate, and a nice stiff drink before bed time All this does the world of good especially the stiff drink. While sitting doing former, take one or two hot water bottles and rest on the painful areas. When in bed again now replenish your hot pads or hot water bottles, and support and heat the offending areas for a nice warm sleep
Thanks Bob, still waiting for a reply from my GP. and I have got a hot water bottle on my back, but the stiff drink sounds good
Oh dear I feel for you nellysgran. I hope you've been able to chat to your GP & get some more effective pain relief.
I've just seen mine as I'm struggling with pain following my knee surgery. He told me to up my pain relief & gave me some steroids as well.
Big gentle hugs x
Hi - I'm so sorry you are suffering this badly. When I came off steroids after a month in November I could barely walk for three days - was just shuffling. Naproxen and co-codimol helped me a lot but unfortunately these also brought on an epic flare of hives. I hope your GP can help you. Tx
Oh hope you got to your GP and got some help. I had a similar experience and had to go to GP yesterday uncontrollable pain and finally got something stronger than panadol osteo, durotram XR (tramadol). well unfortunately the side effect was that I couldn't sleep it made me buzz. I kept waiting for the drowsy bit but it never happened so it has been a long long day today! Hope you are faring better.
