Good luck! Am waiting for a date for knee replacement myself, so interested to know how you get on.

I expect you have had it done now, so hope it went well. Safe recovery. Hug on the way....Anne

Hope the surgery all went well for you :) I have had this done twice in one knee and once in the other and it gave me a few years break from pain each time so I hope it works for you like it did for me. It was a good way to delay having a TKR. Best of luck!

Have u had tkr then I think he's doing these to see how far it will take me and how long before he does tkr x

in reply to Deejojo

Deejojo To answer that question is complicated but no I havent had them yet.... I had 6 ops lined up that I had carefully planned in order of priority but now my spine has gone bad again so I am going interstate next week for another decompression/fusion :( - that means the TKR's and other ops have to wait!

Hope the surgery went well - I am 3 days post op from a total knee replacement, I had the other knee done 5 years a go.

Hope ur coping well ?? Hun how was it ?? Not too bad I hope how old ru ?? Hope u don't mind me asking as I'm 56 x

in reply to Deejojo

I'm ok thanks! I had the first one when I was 55 (now 60) after I'd had 2 arthroscopies. My RA wasn't too obvious then but as I had bone on bone it needed doing!

I knew this one would need doing when I had the other one done but waited as long as I could. The first knee improved although due to the RA you're still left with some discomfort as the lining which gets left in place can still get inflamed .

This time the knee just got progressively worse & swollen which was limiting my activity although I was still able to walk for about 30 mins although did suffer afterwards!

I had surgery Mon afternoon & managed to escape yesterday evening so am doing well!

Mind you I took my MTX last evening so am feeling a bit yuck today :(

I hope you are feeling better soon :)

I don't understand why he's making me wait I've had 3 othroscopys on left knee right knee done tues I'm 56 getting a bit frustrated now I'm back to see him in 3 months hope u feel a bit better soon lv x

in reply to Deejojo

Im glad to see you are ok after the op. Still, it takes it out of you.

Its understandable to be upset when docs delay a treatment you think can help... After my first arthro/chondro (2008) my ortho said "its grade 4 bone and bone and u will need a TKR next time". So I went back 3 yrs later (2011) and he said "you are too young (I was 54) so we will do another arthro/chondro". Then I went back in Oct 2013 and he said it was more urgent to do cuff repair/decompression/acromioplasty's/carpal tunnels (together) on both sides before the TKR's.... sighhh.... I managed to get one shoulder/hand done and then I think because I wasnt walking properly with my arm in the sling and not rotating the stick to either hand, my back went on me again :(

Now I also cant see because the eye doc says my cataracts are rapidly deteriorating and I do need to have them done before winter (june for aussies) .... Im only 57 too so frustration is something I can empathise with :)

It must cost them more to do the small ops all the time I hope u feel better soon x
