I've been on Sertraline for 3 years now, just needed a pick me up. Mainly on them for having RA.. I am hoping they'll take me off of them gradually, very soon x

Hi Lou ,

I take amitryptolene to help raise my pain threshold along with sulfasalazine and they seem ok,

Hi Philip, I haven't heard of that one before.. Any good? What mg are you on? I was on 100 now down to 50 x

Hi again, it is highly recommended for fibromyalgia as that it is one of my many illnesses lol, for raising the pain threshold and to relax the muscles and an aid to some sleep, I take between 20 mg upto 50 mg depending how I feel, not suitable for everyone though but work pretty well for me.

I am on Prozac , mainly because of the RA and trying to get my head round it. I've tried coming off them but I seem to go right down. They just seem to keep me on an even keal.

I know what you mean, that's the same as me. I want to come off of them, but I'm worried I'll get really down about it again.. Hope you're okay x

I used to take them, but I hated them, as I was very sleepy and put on a stone in weight. I have since followed an online learning programme and have found ways to manage my low moods without medication. Might be worth a try? (Beating the Blues - available throught the NHS via your GP)

Hello

This medication is an antidepressant, some of these can assist in nurological pain although I am not sure if this medication does this.

Are you suffering from a deppresive illness or suffer clinical anxiety.

As mentioned regards nurology you should talk to the GP why you are still on this tablet.

As you have taken this medication three years or so yo will need to take time getting of them

I've been on Sertraline for five years now and don't ever want to come off it! It makes coping with the RA so much easier and also prevents my stress induced migraines.

It's also helped my mother in law and brother in law who were on it temporarily. They didn't have any problems coming off it (slowly) but they were prescribed it for specific difficult times in their lives rather than persistent depression.
