In order of preference for best BBQ = Friends and Neighbours, Red, White, & Rose Wine, Italian Lager, Coke, Water, Mixed Salad, Olive Bread, Mixed Cheese, Strawberries. Then the usual from M & S, chicken, burgers, sausages. And finally a load of wood to put on after we have finished cooking to keep us warm!
But really the best bit, is friends and neighbours, we all muck in and have a great night till 2pm.
Not a great lover of BBQ in this country due to the weather. But a Braii in South Africa with a cold can of Castles lager in my hand. Ahh happy days in my past.
We had springbok, crocodile (honest) steaks that melted in the mouth and prawns fresh out the Tugela river. In Mtubatuba, Kwa Zulu Natal. Don't think you get them in the north east, although they will eat just about anything up there.lol.
Yeah. I've been out up there on a Saturday night and lived to tell the tale. Made me feel old seeing all the lads and girls going out on the town in feb in little strappy tops just as I was going back to the hotel to turn in for the night and get warm!
Once barbequed something weird, I think it was kangaroo, for xmas dinner. Kind of a rebellion against the usual routine. It was okay, the weather was unseasonably mild specially for the occasion but it did rain so had to put up a big umbrella.
Can we have different coloured peppers & onions too & lots of dips??? xx
The weather up here is too variable to plan for a barbeque. We had a great gas one but it broke down eventually. Husband hates them as the boys only eat meat and we get all grotty left overs while they hog the sausages and the beer! TTx
