CSP/SSP has run out need advice what to do.

Hi Matt
Can you put a claim in for ESA? You can ring the new claim line for advice not sure what the number is or go on the Gov.uk website which is full of information, the new claim number will be on there too. There are two types of ESA contribution based or income based but the helpline or website will explain more. You will need a note from your doctor or consultant saying that you're unfit for work. It's one thing being unwell without having to worry about finances but there is help out there for times when you need it. Good luck!

Hi Angej thank you. mattcass
hi matt yes my csp/ssp ran out in march, so applied for esa-contribution based, as myhusband works and earns not worh applying for income based ,i was told i didnt have enough cotributions WRONG , however i was awarded in the end 71 a week, you also have to fill in a form for atos, which i did and have just heard that fromjune till 2014my benifit will go up to 100 so yesgoto esa they will take your details over phone ,then post them to youforyou to check if something not right tell them and then wait to see if you get it ,it should be straight forward SHOULD butthis is dwp lol good luck.
i had 26 weeks ssp at work .
Check with CAB on what you are entitled to. The benefits advisors there are really clued up.
Hi, its definately worth looking at the website benefitsandwork.co.uk
Got some invaluable free info on there re ESA and other benefits. It has nothing to do with DWP.
It has helped me enormously. Good luck
