Just wondering if anyone knows if you need injections before travelling abroad. Ive been abroad loads of times but not with ra (only last year to turkey but never had injections)
This year we off to Egypt and ive never been here before so unsure as to injections.
Also can i have injections while taking hydroxy?
Thanks
Jo

I do think Hydroxy changes things, but do check with GP just to be sure. And if you're going on an organised holiday and staying in hotels then your risks will be much lower anyway.
years ago i went to egypt,, flipping honeymoon ,, a nile cruise , ( what a waste of time that was ) jesusssss !!! costa a furtune .. grrrrrr.. if your blonde ,, watch out .. i was offered 3 camels for my ex wife ... if only id known .. i wished id taken him up on the offer now ,,
if my memory is correct ,, it can depend on which part of egypt your going too ,, i do remember having a jab for summet tho .. cant remember what ...
Hi, best bet is to check with your GP, they generally have a travel clinic. I had a lot of travel immunisations before I went to Mexico so am generally covered, but am having a problem with going on safari to Kenya. Apparently you need a yellow fever vaccine, but due to RA meds I can't have it as its a live vaccine. You can have " dead" vaccines otherwise called inactivated vaccines but not the live.
My advice go to GP, ask for imams clinic, they will have a computer printout of what imms you will have had and what is necessary for Egypt.
They said obviously you are at more risk camping in the savannah rather than staying in an all inclusive hotel, not sure if that meant infections or from lions lol ! Axx
Hi, depends on where in Egypt you're going. I've been to Sharm a couple of times and didn't need anything special. Best place to find correct up to date info is at a travel clinic. If your surgery has one that would be the best choice as they'll have a record of all your imms so they can check your tetanus etc is up to date. Don't think hydroxy is a problem if you do need jabs. I've had to have hepatitis vaccination for work and there was no problem giving me that. Have a lovely holiday x
