Oh I hope you do get a good night's sleep. You are entitled to be in a bit of a blur just now! As for your pain meds - guess it depends what they are .... why not contact a pharmacy tomorrow? Good luck with mtx - it'll be okay. At least you didn't put the cat in the fridge.

I take co-codamol with MTX no probs I find I have Amitriptyline 2 tabs helps to get at least 4-6 hrs sleep its when you walk in a room to get something and forget what you want at least it was food in the fridge my purse often ends up in there but it was a bit much when I found a pkt of toilet rolls in the freezer take care

justlizz: your comment made me laugh out loud. I thought I was the only one doing strange things when I take something to help me sleep (which doesn't work by the way). The weirdest thing I've done so far is put my reading glasses in the frig.

Definitely take strong painkillers alongside mtx and keep them topped up. Sympathise deeply with the brain fog.

I hope it works quickly for you - have they given you steroids to take alongside it to tide you over?

Good luck,

Dotty xx

I start my MTX tonight.... Got an MRI monday n then having a steroid injection but cant hav that until scan is done... Ive been taking boots own version of nytol plus cocodomol sometimes..... Bit naughty OH tells me off but i do get sum sleep....

I also take amitriptyline, 2 tablets before bedtime. I take etoricoxib and I'm allowed up to 90mg. This is an anti inflammatory and it works the best. I also take paracetamol and codeine when needed. When I need all of that, then its time for me to ask for a kenalog! Which is what I'm doing at kid minute. I'm waiting for the rheumy nurse to ring me back.

My GP said to me awhile back that you have to do all you can to sleep at night as the sleep will help you cope with the pain the next day. So I take most of my pain killers and both inflammatory before bedtime.

Hope this help!
