Posting here about a craving is waaaay better than giving in to it.

Each time you say no to a fag, you're one step closer to being totally nicotine-free.

Well done mate. Keep posting.

I am now stood outside waiting for mark to pick me up.... And it's peeving down! Sorry I just thought that posting was better than just having a fag, now I feel like an alkie cos I have had a drink with friends after work "at 5pm on a Friday"

I logged in in the toilets cos frankly my mates "wouldn't get it" and I didn't want them asking me what I was doing they don't know I use the forum, it's not a secret it's just never come up.... I'm sorry for being a nause but thanks crisis averted I haven't and won't have one and I'm going home

Aw honey was it really that bad? You don't sound like an alcoholic at all, you don't even seem drunk - your spelling is still spot on. You've done so well for 6 weeks, you always say never give in and go back to Day 1 because you'll just want to be back where you were.

Lol I'm not drunk at all just had a few glasses of wine with friends after work but it's the first time I've been out socially since I quit, I cancelled on them Saturday I couldn't cancel again, anyway all is well I'm home and still smoke free thank goodness

2 hrs in the pub after work is a million miles of being an alkie, if I'm off work and I'm in spoons around 9 or 10 am having a brekkie and a few pints lol

Woo hoo you didn't cave in and well done you, what you'll find in time the longer you stay quit is that every situation that you go into where you used to smoke will be hard, the next time will be a bit easier although on this occasion that will depend on how much drink. In 10 months time you could have done something for the 1st time since you quit and you possibly may get a crave. It's all about resetting the subconscious again back to smoke free situations again like it was as you first started, like you was doing something where you wouldn't normally smoke and then you did and the brains like " Ewwww what's this stink cack he/she's putting inside of me" the only difference in the reversal aka a quit is it's harder to get rid of the addiction to the nicotine even though it's out of your body in a couple of days the mind still wants wants wants and will try a lot of things (triggers) to do this.

Donna if you smoke Alfie's gonna end up with a horses head at the bottom of his doggie bed.

^^ is it wrong to find that funny lmao.

Awww poor Alfie :D I am fine now I am home cos OH quit the same day as me, feel edgy but now in Jammie's and ok :) looks like I'll have to be a hermit for a bit longer yet, that was a very close call :/ xx

You got threw though ;) Packing in smoking, it's just horrible from every angle until your body and mind excepts it, just need to stick there until ut does.

Thanks Steel your a pal ;) it is blimming tough for some more than others it seems however I am now having another glass of wine with hubby and I havent got a crave at all! My muckers obviously bring out the worst in me :) they understood why I left though and if it means being a recluse for 6 months then I'll have to do it, I tried it, I went out and I'm obviously just not ready yet x

You know and I know that the old Donna would not have posted, would not have sought sanctuary in the loo, would instead have had a few more bevvies then said 'B****x to it' as you got a bit drunk and snagged one puff which would have headed downhill at a colossal rate of knots :eek:

Not this version of Donna though-this is different ;)

THis is a massive turning point in my eyes for you, there will be a great sense of a victory won- and like the others say-you honestly DO hit the stage where you can be out with your muckers and not even think of a ciggie-but that is some way off-however it WILL come if you keep ploughing ahead x

Thanks Max I really believe it is I panicked and thought what can I do and then just posted on the forum desperate for the ever faithful three posts ;) it worked though and I thank you all for that xx

Looks like I am late for the party.

You did the right thing Donna, I can't think of any other (effective) solution to that situation. Glad it all worked out in the end

Sorry I'm late too however.....

Well done Donna, if in doubt run for the nearest lavvy! Dearly noted!

I have this problem too and have avoided my smoking pals on nights out just incase! We will know when we are ready!

You did the best thing for yourself:D xx

Donna, just wanted to say :

WELL DONE THAT WOMAN!!!! :D:D:D

I'm proud of you too. Flipping fantastic, and as Max says, a bit of a turning point I think. If you don't make the Penthouse this time I'll eat my hat (and you wouldn't want that would you? :))

You'll see- it won't be long before you can have a night out without a single crave.

Hope you'll give yourself a big, fat treat today for riding that one out.

Well done Donna, sounds to me like you did the right thing at the time.

Our quits are a precious thing and sometimes we have to remove or avoid situations where you are tempted to smoke.

Thank you all so much :) how I feel today is a million miles away from how I felt last night, amazing how certain people and places can trigger us off! I do feel proud because I don't think I could of been that strong In my last quit so perseverence is paying off, to everyone else that's struggling we CAN do this a friend of mine has quit and had a fag and said it was horrible she's now back on track so DONT GIVE IN! :) :) xxxxxx
