Cycled to the clinic on me Brompton. Nurse was surprised to get a CO reading as now nearing 48hrs quitting. She suggested maybe I should go buy a CO detector. I said maybe it's traffic fumes. Nah, she said, unlikely, check yer boiler. My partner still smokes.... which is tricky. Wasn't too bad at work today, though a couple of stress points had me fidgeting mightily. Popped some mints. It's tough.

Heh! Obviously!
Congratulations and welcome to the forum
Please get a detector tomorrow. They are a small price to pay to ensure you are both safe. I have the Honeywell one and the peace of mind is worth every penny.
What Karri said!!
Welcome to the forum
Might be wrong here, but I dimly remember someone having a CO test on here before that was high and they had a leaky boiler.
Definitely well worth getting it checked, just to be on the safe side!!
Thank you Karri I went to Wilcos after the clinic to get one but it was nearly £20!!! Now, as much as I want to support local shops, that's three times what they are online! So I ordered one, in fact, two for the price of one (we have a gas boiler and a gas fire in living room). The puzzle is I left for work at 6.30 and there is no way there should have been a CO residue from any home exposure. That leaves the gas boiler in the kitchen at work which is down the corridor and through a permanently closed fire door in which I spend almost no time at all other than to brew up. That just leaves traffic, but I don't think ten minutes through town would give a reading like that. Puzzled.
Anyway...dinner over and cup of tea to hand. Now what's missing? Let me think....something.....something. Definately something missing. Just keep typing clod...say anything...it will go away, won't it?

If there was a post of the month competition on this 'ere forum....this one....for me....would take a bit of beating. It has EVERYTHING. Boilers.....trickiness.....Bromptons, mints, and...... most importantly.....mighty fidgeting. Oh..... and an author called Clod. It tickles me.
Well done Clod. 48hrs and counting.
No...she doesn't smoke indoors. Her last try to give up was with Champix but it sent her well and troooly loopy loo. Time probably not right for her atm as her dad very ill and otherwise stressed. I'm not about to even suggest she try just now...even if it would make things a little easier for me.

Two of last years beauties....
Day two done.
Two things I hate most. Being a slave to fags and despising myself for it. The amount of freakin money I've burnt up hurtin myself.
Anyway....got through that day Best go bye byes. Good luck to ye all.
Aw..thanks Jenny
Hi Clod,
I can see you are going to make us all laugh on a regular basis
Hope your chickens are laying well and that your day is going well. What was your CO reading if you don't mind sharing? I only ask because 48 hours isn't very long for the reading to have dropped to a negligible anount (mine was still 3 a week after quitting for example).
Anyway, a big welcome to the forum from me and will look forward to hearing how it is all going.

Thanks Skiddaw. Don't mind in the slightest. The reading was 11ppm or 1.76% blood level and I had already cut down a lot prior to quitting. She was puzzled, and she seemed very experienced. I'm not sure what to make of it. See what the next appt shows. I ordered a monitor for home and asked them to check the boiler at work anyway.
