It's not been easy for me either today, like a few of you, I've had to deal with some serious cravings.
Unfortunately, there is a strong pattern developing on the way I am dealing with them.
Eating.
I am constantly munching. I prepared myself and got a load of fruit and celery / carrot sticks prepared but then there's breakfast (that I never used to eat) and lunch (that i normally just picked at) and the afternoon munchies.
And then there's the chocolate. How come I never noticed how lovely that twentieth piece tastes in the afternoon.
Trust me, hiding the chocolate really doesn't help, especially when you are doing the hiding yourself.
Taps fingers on desk.... Is it tea time yet?
Seriously, I need to sort myself out. One of the main reasons I lost my last quit is because I was putting on so much weight. I can't lose this one. I've started running and have enjoyed long walks but I'd have to run all day to burn the calories I'm consuming.
Ugh!
Nik.

Hey Nik, I have been eating a lot too, never normally eat sweat things, but can't keep my hands out the cookie jar lol!! Serious muchies in the evening as well!!
It's obviously linked to not smoking, but not sure how?
I wouldn't be too hard on yourself though, especially if you are running.
Hiya shoegal....I'm munching popcorn as we speak lol
As rustler says don't be too hard on yourself. But defo keep up the exercise. If I don't exercise smoking or not I feel 'fat' even though I'm not. And I think most pppl are the same. I've actually upped my exercise since my quit as I'm trying to keep myself busy.
The money I've not been spending on fags I've been buying loads of prepared fruit. And I snack on sunflower and pumpkin seeds in work.
I've pretty much finished all my xmas chocolate thanks god!
Everything tastes so good now......because we can taste it!
I'm also eating much more, but as i said in a previous thread I can get away with it
Mix it up with treats but also sensible healthy stuff. I'm eating bananas and raisins at work in an attempt to avoid all of the chocolate left over from Christmas.
I have just sat down to review the happenings of the day......got a cup of tea and a packet of Jaffa Cakes......yum yum.....I reckon I will do the packet.......
My view is that the most important thing right now is to kill the craving......if putting pound on now is a consequence then I would rather that......I will deal with the weight issue when I have to son the speedos again......
Hang on......I have to take the kids to a swimming party on Saturday......yeikes......
same for me! I've developed a sweet tooth too! However the last couple of days I've stopped eating so much and tried drinking tea instead. Well look, it's the first week, if you need to eat, then do it! It's just a transition week/fortnight!
