Well, because I'm an excellent role model (ha!) and a shining example of priest hood (again ha!) I went to a leaving do last night and encountered many un holy spirits and despite this I didn't smoke!! And hangovers aren't as awful when you don't smoke! I can't believe it's been 2 weeks today!! So proud! Xxx

Well done Lois!!
lol @ the "unholy spirits" and if you didn't smoke when you're drinking that's a great sign!!
Well done oh holy one!!! Seriously, 2 weeks is great, and feeling good too......you look well set to carry this one right through. Well done.
Im into my ninth day, think Im coping ok during the day, but come betime its hell I just can not sleep!
I have started to remove the patches a couple of hours before bedtime but im lucky if I get four hours sleep. Im putting the patch back on while Im still in bed about an hour before I come down otherwise Im like a bear with a sore head. oh I do hope I can get a good nights sleep soon.
that's awesome! congrats!

Tooshay, I had exactly that with the patches - it's flipping horrible
I've been taking the patch off just before I go to bed and that had worked!! I'm guessing it's having the patch on while you're asleep that causes the nightmares and bad sleep.
Started doing that last week, and now I'm sleeping normally again *but* I do need a piece of gum first thing.
You *will* get back to a normal sleeping pattern, but you'll probably end up going to sleep on the sofa in the evenings!!
Good luck with your quit
Gemma
Cheers for that, good to know its not just me. The trouble is keeping awake during the day knowing if I shut my eyes I wont sleep at all through the night, but Im hangin on in there. Another thing is I have lost my appetite I have to make myself eat another side effect of the patches for some I believe but at least it should be temporary, Still not touched a ciggy though.
thanks for the support.
You're very welcome
The sleeping thing is a real pain, but taking the patches off makes it OK again in a few days, don't know about you but the patches have been a lifeline to me!!
The important thing is that you haven't had a smoke - that's brilliant and good luck with your quit

And hangovers aren't as awful when you don't smoke!
I remember a long time ago when I wasn't smoking...Hangovers seemed a little more pleasant! Oh how I long for that! (Long for a hongover?! silly me!)

Just a little tip. I have been using a herbal relaxer called stressless. I use it all day as I am not on any replacement therapy (I just wanted it out of my system) but it would probably help you sleep. Its all natural.
